This Volunteers Week (31 May 2020 – 6 Jun 2020) we’re featuring stories from some of the volunteer scientists at UK Biocentre’s ‘Lighthouse Laboratory’, who are testing tens of thousands of COVID-19 swab samples every day.

The dedication and drive of the volunteers – who have come together in a matter of weeks from a broad range of scientific backgrounds with different levels of experience – provide a powerful reminder of how people can pull together to achieve the same goal.

Thank you to all our volunteers and staff for the contribution they’re making.
